Good morning all! Like I stated yesterday, there is NO vocabulary exam.

Instead, I want us to reflect on ways we can practice social justice or also honor the lives of those who have lost their lives due to social injustice. I made an example for you all. It is a mix of writing and drawing (as you can tell, I'm not the best artist but I tried my best and I hope the message behind it holds significance). I also added different examples that can give you some inspiration.

Here a list of different things you can do:

1) write a letter to an elected official of changes you want to see in our communities and nation OR

2) make a positive protest sign in honor of the life of George Floyd or other figures who have died at the hands of police/official brutality OR

3) write a poem/song/draw an image reflecting the inequities/inequalities you or your family might have encountered or have witnessed in regards to race relations in America OR

4) complete any sort of creative piece that sheds light on a powerful message about social justice.

You all are one of the most creative classes I have had an I TRULY look forward to how you use your voice and heart to spread a message about social justice.

Hi 7th! I have added our art assignment here.

This assignment is going to require you to create a digital collage. The collage is going to be ABOUT YOU. You can make it about things you are interested in or about your favorite moments..or anything that is related to YOU! You can either search the web or insert your own images that show a little about you. I made a collage to give you an example. You can check it out in the video attached to this post or by clicking on the link below.

Please have at least 5 images. I recommend opening up GOOGLE SLIDES to help you paste your images. I have a video here to guide you through the process. I hope it helps and please reach out if you have any questions. Can't wait to see your collages! :)
