School Closed Due To Poor Air Quality

Mr. Kruska has consulted with Father Beto, who together decided that St. Joseph the Worker School will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, 12-7, and Friday, 12-8 due to the unhealthy air quality and the unpredictable, hazardous weather conditions, this week. This decision was not made lightly and was made in accordance with the closing of all LAUSD schools in our area as well as several of the local Catholic schools.

Please note that these days will be made up later in the year.

Our prayers are with everyone affected by the fires and the first responders.

Rest In Peace Mrs. Coffman

You may have already heard that this weekend, Mrs. Patricia Coffman, teacher at St. Joseph the Worker School for over 30 years and mother of our 8th grade teacher, Ms. Coffman, passed away after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Coffman was a humble servant to our Lord and our school. She was an excellent teacher and loved all her students as if they were her own. It was a true blessing to know her.

There will be a memorial Mass in our church on Wednesday, November 29th at 10:00 am. This is not a funeral, however the subject matter may be difficult for some students, and the church may be very full. If school families wish to keep their child(ren) at home, students will be marked absent WITHOUT penalty.

NOTE: There will not be a reception per the family’s request.
