2022 Catholic Schools Week - January 30th through February 5th

What is National Catholic Schools Week? Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2022 is January 30 – February 5. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2022 is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” Schools typically observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

SJW - Return to School Letter - 12.31.21

After consultation with Fr. Beto and the Department of Catholic Schools, we have decided to safeguard the health and safety of our St. Joseph the Worker School Community and will require that all students and employees show proof of a negative test result upon returning to school, regardless of one’s vaccination status. We will also postpone the return to campus until Thursday, January 6th and be asynchronous on Monday-Wednesday. Please read attached letter for more details.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT PAJAMA PARTY (Updated 12/2)

In this same spirit of taking precautionary measures with our school community (especially in consideration of the new Omicron variant), and consultation with Fr. Beto, we will not be having an in-person SJW Christmas Concert on December 20th.  Keeping in mind that we typically fill the Church with people even having to stand against the back walls for this event, we discussed moving the concert outside, but the weather is too unpredictable during this time of year.  To have it safely indoors, we would have to limit the attendance in accordance with health department guidelines.  Rather than put limits on the number of family members that can attend, we will have a very special Christmas Concert Pajama Party THIS Thursday, December 16th at 7pm on Zoom.

SJW's COVID Safety Plan - Fall 2021

UPDATED 11/24/2021 - Decision Pathways for Symptoms and Exposures in Early Education Centers and TK-12 Schools

UPDATED 9/1/2021 - Schools can now reopen pursuant to community support while following public health guidelines.

CALENDAR UPDATE

The calendar for the next few weeks was updated.  The dates of December 20-22 were intended to be school days mainly due to the availability of the Church for our program (which will now be virtual) and to allow for a full week off for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  To ensure a more traditional Christmas Break (full two weeks) and to more align family calendars with siblings in high school, we have made a few adjustments to the calendar for December and the spring months.  Our last day before break will be Friday, December 17th at 12:45pm.  There will NOT be school the following week (12/20-12/22).
